About the Show
Recently added to our Friday Matinee Recital Series is an afternoon of chamber music with distinguished violinist and concertmaster of the New York City Ballet, Arturo Delmoni. One of the most celebrated artists of his generation, Mr. Delmoni’s interpretations are elegant and distinctive, imbued with a romantic warmth reminiscent of the golden age of violin playing. His chamber partner, Nina Siniakova, is an accomplished pianist and composer who brings excitement and depth to her interpretations. As a composer, Ms. Siniakova recently received 1st prize and the People’s Choice Award for her concerto for 2 violins and orchestra at the Petrov Symphony Music Composers’ Competition in St. Petersburg, Russia.
Together, they bring us a program that spans four centuries, featuring perennial favorites Bach, Vivaldi, and Beethoven, while introducing us to names such as Lukas Foss and Nina Siniakova. Of particular note on the program are the warm radiance of Beethoven’s Spring Sonata, the imposing genius of Bach’s monumental Chaconne in d minor for solo violin, and the infectious energy of Three Wishes, composed by Ms. Siniakova.
This performance will be free of charge and take place in Grunin A203 so as to utilize the 9½ foot Bosendorfer Imperial Grand Piano generously on loan to Ocean County College by Mr. Richard Askoff. Please call 732-255-0500 to reserve seats, as they are limited.
