This week’s featured presenter: Paul Chalakani, Program Chair of OCC Performing Arts – Theatre, and Director of the OCC Repertory Theatre Company

During this Facebook Live, Paul Chalakani will speak with Victoria Buczynski, Marketing and Sales Specialist at the Grunin Center, about the Performing Arts Associates Degree here at Ocean County College, how to apply, and what performing opportunities are available to students at OCC.

About Paul

Paul Chalakani holds both undergraduate (B.A.-Fine Arts-Theatre, Rider University (College)) and graduate (M.F.A., George Washington University) degrees in theatre and has studied professionally in NY with Robert Lewis, a founding member of the Actor’s Studio among others. Mr. Chalakani is a well-known director and producer in NJ and has directed over 200 productions in a 40 plus year career. Mr. Chalakani is a member of the faculty and the Performing Arts Program Chair in the School of Arts and Humanities at Ocean County College and is the Artistic Director of the OCC Repertory Theatre Company

Paul is an accomplished actor having performed at various theatres in NYC including the Circle Repertory Company and the Actor’s Playhouse, a U.S. tour with The National Players and various theatres regionally.

Paul has taught theatre at Monmouth University, George Washington University, The County College of Morris, The Count Basie Performing Arts Academy, The Algonquin Arts Center and privately. He was a founding member and artistic director of The Atlantic Stage Company and a board member of Cabaret for Life and The Asbury Park Theatre Company.

Paul is also a Deacon in the Episcopal Diocese of New Jersey.
