Looking for a performance space in Ocean County? The Jay and Linda Grunin Center for the Arts is available for rental to community organizations, dance schools, and more. The Grunin Center’s Main Stage is a professionally staffed, air-conditioned proscenium theater with excellent sightlines, comfortable seating, and terrific acoustics.

The theater is suitable for various programs, including classical and popular music concerts, recitals, dance performances, theatrical performances, lectures, and meetings.

Jay and Linda Grunin Center for the Arts Main Stage

The Main Stage at the Grunin Center for the Arts is a 460-seat proscenium arch theater.

The ground-floor Orchestra section is raked, meaning the seats in row A are lower than the seats in row K. Four aisles allow for easy access to seats. No stairs are required to access Orchestra seats.

Our second-floor Mezzanine section is our balcony. Easy access to the Mezzanine level is offered by an elevator in the lobby. The Mezzanine is stadium-style, meaning that each row is four steps lower than the one behind it. All rows, except row EE, require stairs to access.

Rental Policies

  • Applications and related paperwork are required to be submitted at least 30 days before the event.
  • The online event calendar does not accurately reflect the availability of space.
  • Submission of an application does not guarantee the availability of space.

Rates included on this page are for information purposes only. All rates are subject to change. Actual costs are based on each event’s specifications.

Main Stage Theater

  • OCC Groups: N/A
  • Nonprofit Organizations: $2,500 per day
  • For-profit organizations: $3,750 per day

Main Stage Theater rental includes use of the lobbies, two dressing rooms, private bathrooms, and basic sound/light equipment. Please see below for a list of additional items available for rent.

Main Stage Lobby

  • For-profit organizations: $200 per hour

Green Room (A117)

  • OCC Groups: N/A
  • Nonprofit Organizations: $100 per hour
  • For-profit organizations: $200 per hour

The following hourly rates apply to Grunin Center staff and all rental categories. Rates listed are per person per hour and have a four-hour minimum. The venue will determine staffing based on event needs, but most events require a minimum of four technicians and one house manager.

  • Technician: $37.00 per hour
  • House Manager: $23.00 per hour

OCC reserves the right to mandate additional personnel, such as security, custodians, on-site supervisors, etc., depending on the size and scope of the event. The rental client will not incur custodial or security costs if such personnel are on normal duty during the event and extra staffing is not required.

Fees will be charged for damage to or loss of college property at its current replacement value.

Tickets being sold by the Grunin Center Box Office is required for most rental events.
